About Laura-Jane ‘LJ’ Rich

LJ RICH IS AN INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED TV PRESENTER.

Laura-Jane researches, scripts, films, edits, and presents on-camera and on stage for the BBC and more. She also hosts events, sometimes presenting from the piano, explaining musical concepts and using music as a powerful method of engaging an audience.

She has compered events internationally and has broadcast over 1500 hours of live television. Currently working as a TV producer at the BBC, she is available for speaking engagements in the fields of consumer electronics, media training and music.

Writing, presenting and filing video features from 4 different continents (so far), LJ also reports and occasionally produces the ‘Tech Know’ series for the BBC Tech index.She can also be heard on BBC World Service Radio, Radio 4 Women’s Hour, the Fred MacAuley Show and You and Yours talking about music technology and social media.

Background
LJ gained a scholarship to the Royal College of Music aged 11 years old to study piano, voice, medieval instruments and electronic music. She read Music at Christ Church College, Oxford, then worked as a sound engineer for Pete Waterman before eventually getting her first TV presenting job. Her encyclopaedic knowledge of science fiction books, Star Trek and most Sci-Fi movies sometimes comes in useful – but not very often!

LJ is proud to be largely responsible for the growth of @BBCClick’s twitter account, which currently stands at over 2 million followers.

She is an enthusiastic foodie and a keen traveller – with a particular affection for the Asia-Pacific area.
